
Confined Space
Entrant, Attendant and Entry Supervisor
All participants in a confined space entry must know the specific function of their duties according to the OSHA regulations and ANSI standards. What areas qualify as a confined space and what ones are permit-required? Students will learn what is required to legally enter a confined space, how to fill out a permit, how to manage hazards and what equipment is required for entry. We will also cover PPE, emergencies, etc.
HAZWOPER
Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response
(24 or 40 hour)
The class applies to employees who may deal with hazardous waste in an uncontrolled waste site or TSDF and/or possibly respond to an emergency involving hazardous substances, according to General Industry 29 CFR 1910.120. Students will learn basic hazardous materials, PPE including respiratory protection, site control, spill control techniques, decontamination and emergency response. Students will participate in group exercises in the classroom and in the field as well as a scenario based exercise. An 8 hour refresher is offered monthly as an open enrollment class or can be provided on-site.
DOT HazMat
This 8 hour course covers DOT requirements for transporters of hazardous materials as well as employees who may package, label and/or ship these materials. Subject matter will include packaging, labeling, shipping papers, placards/labels, loading and security.
First Aid/CPR
We use the Medic First Aid curriculum for our classes although Red Cross or American Heart Association classes are available. Our CPR courses are designed to follow ECC-2005 guidelines and, with the added first aid component, covers OSHA requirements for basic medical trainig. The classes can be formatted in a 4 to 8 hour session depending on the needs of the customer. The courses can be customized to include Bloodborne Pathogens, Automatic External Defibrillators, Child/Infant CPR and more.
Trenching & Excavation - Competent Person
Commonly called “trench and shore” this class will cover the regulations of the 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 codes. Students will learn soil types and conditions and how to determine the proper type of protective measures. Competent person duties will be taught through hands-on participation in actual excavation scenarios.
